This first meeting of the North East Branch is FREE to both members and non-members of NAEGA. Marcus Offer is a long standing member of NAEGA who lives in Leeds. Marcus has studied and written widely over several years on the effect of IT on the practice of guidance. Earlier this month he was a keynote speaker at the Prospects national conference on E-guidance. In NAEGA News and Views Summer 2004, Marcus contributed a stimulating paper 'E-guidance: can e-mail deliver 'guidance?'. Copies of this paper will be available to delgates attending the Branch meeting on 4 November. The Branch Development Project is designed to encourage participation at regional/ local level. A major aim in England is to promote branch activity in each region (Government Office Region). The BD Project Manager is Kathy Blackmore () The 'new' North East Branch has been allocated two mentors for the project who are Amanda Green and Siobhan Neary. A key task at this first meeting of the 'revived branch' is to agree a programme of branch activity and identify a small group of members to develop a sustainable branch. The Open University in the North is located in Eldon House Regent Centre, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. It is readily accessible by Metro (Airport Line) to Regent Centre Station but parking in this office complex is quite difficult (tightly controlled). The nearest public parking is at the Park and Ride facility at the Metro station. A map will be sent to those booking a place. |
