BIS on matrix Standard

Posted: 24 July 2010

BIS has issued the following statement about the matrix Standard:

“The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) conducted a procurement to find a contractor to continue with the management of the matrix Standard assessment and accreditation process after the existing contract ends on 30 July 2010. This process has had to be terminated and no replacement contract has been awarded. BIS is reviewing how to move forward, in particular whether and when to seek to procure services to manage the matrix Standard assessment and accreditation process.

“The Department is committed to taking forward the review of the matrix Standard and implement necessary changes to strengthen the Standard. These could include changes to the support processes and would need to be factored in as BIS decides on the way forward. Another factor is of course government measures to reduce public spending. BIS will communicate the steps its plan to take to interested parties as soon as it is in a position to do so.”
